Follow up Friday - Week of September 1-5

5K/10K for FCA
This week started off early Monday morning at our 26th Annual 5K/10K for FCA. This event serves as a fundraiser for FCA each year as well as an outreach to the running community around Chattanooga. With the growth of Chattanooga outdoor activities in recent years, we have seen runners and outdoor enthusiasts get involved with the FCA ministry through FCA Endurance huddles and events such as the 5K/10K. We had over 400 runners this year and great weather! We are extremely thankful to Chad Varga of FrontRunner Athletics who serves as the race director each year and to each of the event sponsors.

Huddle Meetings
Many of our campus huddles also began their meetings this week. Our staff have been going from one school to another as leadership teams are planning for the year and as each huddle kicks off the year. God has been opening many doors already this school year – beginning with Training Day when several new huddles were given permission to attend and continuing as we see God’s favor with new coaches and administrators who allow our staff to be present and the student leaders to have access to spread the Gospel within the schools! We received this text from one of our middle school huddle coaches yesterday:

“I wanted to let you guys know that the kids have been leading prayer in the halls between classes and have been starting prayer groups.”

God has raised and is continuing to rise up great leaders in the area middle schools and high schools. Please continue to pray for each of these students and that they will reach their campuses for Christ! Please check out our social media pages to see pictures from various huddle and leadership meetings!

If you attend any number of area high school football games, you may see bright green 10B4 flags and shirts before the game. 10B4 is a prayer movement which began after schools were banned from pre-game prayers. These student-led prayers often take place on the sideline; in an endzone; or as seen on our social media pages, in the middle of the football field. Tonight’s games featuring 10B4 prayers will be: Soddy @ Ooltewah, Red Bank @ Brainerd, Hixson @ Tyner, Whitwell @ Marion, and Walker Valley @ East Hamilton. If you are in attendance at any of these games, look for the 10B4 group and feel free to join in the prayer!
